South London’s MAMBA is carving his way in the music industry and making big moves within his artistry, through his latest EP project, ‘Impartial’. An introspective listen, MAMBA moves his listeners with emotion-filled riffs of melody, backed up by reflective lyrics, bringing his listeners on a journey of describing what he has been through. MAMBA is true to himself and isn’t afraid to share his experiences, which you hear in his music. Not a newbie in the music game, MAMBA has had a consistent stream of R&B-Trap single releases since 2019. Over the last seven years, he has worked on developing his sound and in the process, has developed an organic fanbase of engaged listeners.
We asked MAMBA to tell us about each of his songs.
Exp - “This was my way to let people know that I've been in this game for some time. Nobody can sound like MAMBA because I've gained a huge amount of experience behind the scenes.”
Recipe - “When you cook, you follow a recipe. This same concept counts for Life in general and for me, my life is music. So I had to map things out in order to achieve this end product.”
Hustle 4 This - “MAMBA is always in the gym... I hustled for this so why shouldn’t I be proud of it? Why shouldn’t I want the whole bag? Especially after all the blood, sweat and tears.”
Fight Or Flight - “The most natural instinctive behaviour known within animals. This one means a lot to me due to how I had felt early on in my music career; nobody had opened their arms to take me in, so at one point, I did feel like giving up. However upon hearing this beat, I felt something that was so natural to me, and that’s the instinct to fight back when cornered.”
Interlude - Interlude is a chopped and screwed version of 'Legends', including a poem spoken by Mamba overlaid on the track.
Legends - “After spending so many hours, making such great music in a flat in south London with my good friend/producer/engineer TheChosenFew, we both came to the understanding that only legends leave work to stay up until 5-6am. The meaning behind every word in this song is legendary. “
